Daphne Nagle Helen Kay and Carol Hooper took out todays event with 17 points. One shot back was Olive Taylor and Miriam Van Hock with Pam Reynolds skipping took the runners up prize.
The final of the Women’s Club Triples was played in very difficult conditions. On a very fast green and in very windy conditions Iris Ballard, Joan Lovett and Pam Reynolds defeated Lynne Davidson, Jan Duncombe and Kay Scrivener. The final score 23-17. Congratulations ladies on a great game.
22 players in cool and windy conditions played on the top green. It was a challenge in a number of ways. It was a 3 way tie.
The winners on a count back was Helen Kay Loris Sinclair and Jan Duncombe with 15 points. Runner up was a pairs game with Wilma Rusling and Helen Elliott getting the money.
The AGM took place and all positions were filled which is a great effort.
Womans selected triples was played under bright and sunny conditions with some good scores recorded.
Winners on the day and on a count back with 20 points were Georgie Stroud Nola Keane and Wilma Rusling , winning their game 28/9
Runners up Joan Lovett Mary Murray and Lola Wallis also on a count back.
On tuesday 14 May Tura Beach grade 2 team did battle with Adaminaby in a winner takes a spot in the last 16 in the state play offs. Played in brilliant autumn weather and on some of the best prepared greens i have seen, both teams were a bit nervous in the earlier ends. Scores were close on both rinks. It was Christine McGarrity ,s team that broke away with some great bowls to post some good ends which proved the difference with her rink winning 28/12.
Jan Joslin,s team holding their rink to go shot for shot with know team able to break away. Their final score 18/18.
The team now prepare to go to Kingscliffe in mid August. Let the fund raising begin.
36 starters played today with visitors from Merimbula and Denliquon playing 3 bowl triples.
The winners were Sue Anstee Sharon Nash and Jan Duncombe with 17 points. Runners up also on a count back were Sis Neilson Barbara Clough and Margaret King.
Grade 2 players were presented with badges as well as their banner before play started. These girls now go to Moruya and will play Adaminaby for a place in the State finals.

The final of the womans district open pairs was an all Tura affair with Jan Duncombe and Pam Reynolds playing Lyn Davidson and Kay Scrivener. Played in cool conditions and with the green running about 14sec some great bowls was played by all concerned. The final score was Jan and Pam winning 19/16 the score reflecting the closeness of the game thru out. There were shots played to take bowls out as well as drawing and the odd drive and achieving the end result. A game that was worthy of being the final and for Tura to have both pairs in has capped off a good competition.
